Web Services provides a number of collaboration tools to the university community.

Blogs 

Weblog software provides a simple mechanism to create web presence without in depth knowlege of html.  All faculty and staff have access to a blog through their standard web hosting account. 

Sakai

Sakai is an open source collaboration platform developed by a consortium of universities.  Sakai provides discussion boards, email lists, chat, remote file storage and other services for both groups and individuals.  All university employees have accounts and can login using their ldap accounts at https://sakai.udmercy.edu

Subversion
