What is RSS?

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a lightweight XML format designed for sharing headlines and other Web content. RSS allows you to access a site without going out of your way to visit it.

How do I use RSS?

RSS-aware programs called news aggregators help you keep up with all your favorite sites, displaying new items from each of them. Aggregators can offer a variety of special features, including combining several related feeds into a single view, hiding items that the viewer has already seen, and categorizing feeds and items.

  1. Download and install a news aggregator (see FeedReader below).
  2. From UDM websites, click on the logo below the news you wish to subscribe too. You will see the raw XML, which is roughly human-readable, but intended for computer programs.
  3. Copy the link in location/address bar into your news aggregator.

Where can I get a RSS Aggregator?

Feedreader is a lightweight open-source aggregator that supports all major RSS formats. It works under Windows 95 and later versions. Download
