Installing TCP/IP

• Double click on my computer, then open control panel.
• Double click on the network icon.
• Review the network components installed on you computer.
• IF TCP/IP is not already installed, click the add button and highlight Protocol as shown on the right and click add again.
• Click on Microsoft, and on the right hand side, scroll down to and highlight TCP/IP and click OK.

How to configure TCP/ IP.

• Click on the network icon again from the control panel.
• Highlight TCP/IP and click properties.
• On the IP Address tab, place a dot in the radio button titled Obtain an IP address automatically. As shown on the right.
• Next click on the WINS Configuration tab and place a dot in the radio button titled Disable WINS Resolution.
• Click the Gateway tab. Make sure that the Installed gateways window is completely empty.
• Click the DNS Configuration tab and place a dot in the radio button titled Disable DNS.
• Click the OK button at the bottom of the TCP/IP properties screen. You will be prompted to restart your system so that the changes take effect; please restart.
