The
User Services-PrePurchase/Inventory department manages
the acquisition and deployment of personal computer site
licenses at the University.
Technically, the University participates in a Campus Agreement
(not a site license) with Microsoft for the Windows Operating
System, Office Desktop Productivity System and Server CALs.
The University does not participate in a work-at-home licensing
program. Installation of products in the Campus Agreement
are schedulable for University owned equipment through the
Helpdesk. A User Services representative will install the
products for you. No media is released in any format.
The University maintains a per-node license agreement with
McAfee for virus protection. This is not a site-license agreement.
The
CIS and CS programs participate in the MSDNAA program which
allows for UDM students in applicable CIS and CS courses
to sign-out course specific development tools at the permission
of the faculty member. If you are in a CIS or CS program,
please contact your faculty member to verify your access
to the MSDNAA products. The MSDNAA media is managed in the
DTS office in Briggs 16a. An MSDNAA agreement form must be
signed by the borrower of the media. Microsoft has very strict
rules for the use of the media which are stated in the agreement
form.
The University does not have a site license for Winzip and
therefore utilizes Freezip.
The University does not have a site license for Macromedia
Dreamweaver however it does share 50 licenses throughout
the labs utilizing a license management tool.
The
University maintains 25 SPSS licenses shared in all labs
and faculty offices.
