Refresh/Recycle
To ensure quality computer equipment is available to all students and faculty, the University implemented a Refresh/Recycle program to place all University owned desktop systems on a 3 to 5 year lifecycle.
- All ITS computers located in all ITS general labs used by students and faculty for teaching purposes are on a three year lifecycle.
- All University owned and inventoried systems that have been originally funded by the Refresh/Recycle program are on a five year lifecycle. Systems acquired through grants are to be refreshed by grant sources. Systems acquired by donation are excluded from the program.
- If you are aware of a University owned computer that has not been inventoried, please contact the helpdesk (993-1500) to schedule inventory and placement in the Refresh/Recycle program.
As new systems arrive at the University, a process is in place to recycle newer hardware in place of older hardware.
The Refresh/Recycle program allows all UDM users the ability to use the best equipment UDM has available.
- Outside of the program are perhipherals, data projectors and curriculum specific devices.
Departments accepting computer donations outside of the University remain outside of the Refresh/Recycle program.
