FTP Passwords

When requesting an e-mail account, you will also be given an FTP account.

FTP accounts require a little more time to create. You should however, be able to pick up the FTP
user id and password within the same day. No student should have to wait longer than 24 hours.

Don’t know about FTP? FTP is an internet protocol used to access the internet. It can be used to
store files out on the internet which can be accessed from anywhere at anytime. FTP is a handy
way to eliminate the need for floppy disks.

If you have never used FTP before, don’t be shy! The Helpdesk staff are there to assist you in
learning all about it. Also, documentation on FTP is available inside the SULab.

The passwords that you will be given will allow you to gain access to your new UDM e-mail account and FTP space. Change that password immediately to something only you will know. This is very important.

What happens if you forget your password? Please visit the Helpdesk with your ID and they will
change it for you on the spot.

Please refrain from sharing your password. You are responsible for activity on your account.

Always remember to logout of your e-mail and your FTP account when done.
