Spam Inforrmation

Receiving unsolicited e-mail is a significant problem for all with e-mail accounts.  To reduce such messages the University has installed the SonicWall E-Mail Security appliance.  Our implementation is called http://mailborder.udmercy.edu and is automatically setup for all users.

On a daily basis users will receive a summary message listing in order (likely spam, policy and spam) messages that are considered suspicious or verifiable spam.  All users should review the summary list and "unjunk" those messages which are mislabeled.  Messages are removed from the Mailborder system after seven days.  After seven days, the user should contact the sender to resend the message as there are no internal means for retrieving mail that has been removed from the system.

For end-user instructions on the use of the system, please review the following manual.
